Throwback Thursday! It is becoming a culture all over the world for people to refer back to their past by posting old pictures of themselves on Thursdays.
What started as a joke on micro-blogging site, Twitter, with the hastag #ThrowBackThursday has become the norm for virtually all social media enthusiasts all over the world.
It is now a common thing for people on various social media platforms – Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, Flicker, HiFive, Foursquare e.t.c to always share with their friends and followers, old pictures of themselves.
Celebrities are not left out too. In Nigeria, celebrities use their #ThrowBackThursday pictures to remind their fans, followers and those who look up to them, that they too have humble beginnings and also as a way of inspiring them to achieve their goals.
Some Nigerians have even begun changing the name, with some people tagging their pictures #Surulere.
