Bobby Shmurda, the rapper, hasn’t died, but there’s a rumor going around on Twitter saying “RIP.” An article saying Bobby Shmurda, real name Ackquille Jean Pollard, was killed by his jail mate is fake. The Brooklyn rapper wasn’t murdered, and “Antwan Mauldin” isn’t a real person. Some people were apparently confused by the whole thing, tweeting “RIP Bobby”
The bogus report was published on Huzlers.com, which describes itself as “satirical.”
Here’s the disclaimer (on the bottom left of the article page): “Huzlers.com is a combination of urban news and satirical entertainment to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief.”
Thousands of people were sharing the fake news article as of Friday night.
